Papa Victor (little Victor's namesake and grandfather) came to visit in November, 2007. He is an engineer by training and has a keen eye for anything physical and a natural aptitude for teaching. He immediately learned the principles of physical therapy and set himself to teach little Victor how to walk longer distances. With his help, little Victor went from walking less than 10 steps without falling to over 60 steps at a time, in less than a month! This was a big and most rewarding accomplishment for us. We counted every step he took on the artificial turf at Ketner Stadium in Wake Forest University until there was no need to count anymore.
Papa Victor's visit was followed by Mama Maruja's (Paul's Mom) in January. Mama Maruja continued the work Papa Victor started and worked with little Victor tirelessly every hour of the day for nearly four weeks. In the process she and Mary Mom (Theresa's Mom) became friends. This has been yet another wonderful gift little Victor has brought to our family!
