Victor's communication skills are really improving this year and we are just thrilled about it. His receptive language is growing leaps and bounds. For example, he understands very well when asked whether he wants to go outside to play (even in Spanish). He answers with an "uh," drops whatever he is doing and heads to the door. He understands and points to many things such as swing, tree, book, tricycle, shoes, etc. He also now brings us toys he needs help with, such as a toy iPod, a top to spin, etc. He loves to show us things he enjoys too, like this beautiful pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. Victor is a very social little person, always engaging us in his life.
His spoken language is developing more slowly but he still makes himself be understood when he wants, with an "uh" or "wa" for yes or want. Sometimes he'll pick up a new sound and use it for a while. He is showing a lot of interest in new sounds (likes to point at letters in people's sweaters so he can hear the sounds they make) and this makes us very hopeful.
