Only a few more tubes left!

Today was a good day. The intestinal problems continued overnight but Victor and Paul were able to rest a little bit more than the night before. Also, Victor has been much more effective coughing and clearing up his lungs. His level of oxygenation has been up in the low to mid ninety's (yeah!) and he is no longer requiring additional oxygen. He is also eating and drinking much more. As you can see, the nasal canula and the IV are gone and so are other lines (Foley catheter) that Victor doesn't want to talk about :). He still has the feeding tube, ECG leads on his chest, and pulse oximeter sensor in his foot. This is huge improvement from just a few hours ago. As you can see in the picture, Victor is a much happier little boy today.

Tomorrow we'll be going for an echocardiogram and modified barium swallow study, initial steps in the search for an answer to Victor's sudden and serious problem with clogged bronchia. Tonight, Theresa is staying with Victor, and the rest of us are going home with his big smile fresh in our minds.
