As he did three years ago, Victor is attending Garabato Pre-School during our family trip to Peru this summer. Garabato is a wonderful project dedicated to inclusive education and individual development. The school contains a motor lab for early motivation, physical activity and therapy and classrooms designed around the needs of specific ages.
Victor made himself at home immediately. He sat calmly during circle time. He went out and chose his own toys and shared them with the other children and really enjoyed walking from table to table playing with all the puzzles. The children were very tickled to have a little American in their classroom and a couple of them followed him everywhere.
The children also eat lunch at their little tables. This was quite an interesting experience. One of the children brought a container with 6 or 8 quail eggs. We think he ate about three of them and rolled the rest around the table. Victor is highly allergic to eggs so we had to be very careful. Fortunately there were two assistants including the teacher and they cleaned everything really well after lunch. Victor is attending this school for the month we are in Peru. He loves it each day.
